AMRUTHA is non-profit, non-governmental, non-political, and non-religious organization established and run by Women members by the group of gross-root development professionals in the year 2004. Providing services through community participation by the needy tribal, rural and urban communities by delivering various developmental programs includes sustainable economic development of Households focusing on livelihood interventions, family health, education and other supporting activities.

PROJECT LOCATION

AMRUTHA is working in Paderu, G.Madugula & Hukumpeta Mandals of Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh covering 60 villages, 2000 tribal families.  AMRUTHA is mainly focusing on Livelihood issues closely addressing Agriculture – Natural Farming (ZBNF), SRI, Promotion of Millets, Regeneration through Nurseries, Plantation (NTFP/ Horticulture & Medicinal Plants), Innovative Models like Integrated Farming Systems, Mixed Cropping Systems, Vegetable cultivation, Kitchen Gardens – Keyhole Gardens, Nutri-Gardens, Gravity Water Structures (Drinking & Irrigation), Community Managed Processing Centre, Processing & Value Addition of Agro. & Horticulture Produces, Sales Outlet - Urban, Rural Marts, Health camps (General, Dental & Eye), Tribal Healers Network, Medicinal Plants Collection (Wild), Farm Waste Management and Health & Hygiene.

WHAT WE DO

AMRUTHA has promoted 2 Farmer Producer Groups “ Jodla Farmers Producers Mutually Aided Cooperative Society Ltd” Regd. With Cooperative Act & “Vaishaki Siridhaanyalu Producer Company Limited” Regd. With Companies Act covering 2000 farmers as Members. Amrutha has given support for these FPOs with Machinery for processing, Seed support, Capacity Building programmes for members on Management of FPOs, Processing & Value Addition, Packing & Branding.  AMRUTHA is also supporting Marketing of FPO members produce in Retail & Bulk trading.

CORE VALUES

 AMRUTHA believes tribals are the most isolated, neglected and exploited communities. They should have equal opportunities, social awareness and right to organize themselves and enjoy the fundamental rights and other constitutional provisions along with other communities and join the mainstream. The philosophy of AMRUTHA is to initiating a need-based development model for sustainable development through the communities’ participation at all levels.

 

AMRUTHA aims to achieve unity and cohesion among the people, create the necessary environment to raise awareness about self-help, integration and provide infrastructure so that the people can move in the desired direction of development. 

This people’s movement is expected to remove the shackles of bondage, evils of exploitation and other prevailing social injustices-poverty, squalor ignorance and powerlessness.

 

We aim to work as catalytic agents for the benefit of the target group within the parameters of our Indian constitution as a non-political secular and action-oriented development organization
